Under every girls clothes is the lingerie that makes her day. Haha, I just made that up on the spot, but isn’t it so true? I start my day with an outfit idea in mind, and my whole look depends on what lingerie I’m going to wear. Making big plans for NYE day and the party that night! That not only means planning my outfits and hair styles ahead of time (which includes lots of rose gold to match my pink hair), but preparing for the effects of the long day! We have officially put up our big Christmas tree outside, decorated and all! We were a little behind this year with all the business of work, but I’m finally in full on festive mode, thanks to lights hanging everywhere, holiday music streaming, and cozy sweater weather. I’ve refreshed the Airstream with some new pillows (if you liked my previous ones, I’m selling them!) that warm up the space with a rosy glow. Mauve is making it’s way everywhere throughout my wardrobe and decor, as you might have noticed. And I’m obsessed with touches of copper to accent it all. I’m stuck in perpetual nesting mode once it gets chilly outside. I just want to create the coziest space to snuggle up in blankets and sip on European drinking chocolate.

I like to go out and experience the holiday buzz, then come back in the evening to have a stay home date night with Josh. I recently learned what Wassail is (“here we come a’Wassailing”), and have been making my own spiced holiday drink to sip on. Spiked of not, it’s so yummy poured over ice in a mule mug! Vodka (to taste)
Fresh Squeezed Orange (1 wedge)
Orange Peel for Garnish

With a special glimpse inside our Airstream, we shot on a gloomy fall day in Cali. The perfect “staying in” weather, where I usually stay in my skivvies or PJs all day. Maybe I work, maybe I play. But Cosabella makes sure I look good either way.

This fall, I realized I started gravitating towards dusty pastels. With the heat sticking around thanks to Indian Summer, and the Cali lifestyle holding on to summer, I felt like typical fall colors were just not working for me. When shooting this For Love & Lemons series, I cozied up in this sweater, and just couldn’t stop thinking how much I loved the color for fall! It’s still light enough of a color to fit my pastel loving aesthetic, and warm/neutral enough to seem cozy and earthy for fall. I had been struggling to figure out my vision for fall and my wardrobe after such long summer months, and my mauve discovery took me in a new direction I was excited to explore.

What’s great about mauve, is it really comes in many shades and tones, and pairs well with just about anything. Greys, beiges, champagnes, black or white- I keep styling it with many different looks and loving it every time! I think it’s safe to say I’m mad for mauve this season. You’ll see it tinting the photos of my blog and Instagram with warmth, and soft, neutral pastel shades.

Some days I just have to take a day off, put on the record player, and allow my mind to relax. It’s crucial as an artist to have time to tune out, and allow rest and rejuvenation to happen, so that new creative thoughts can be born. We forget in this day and age that not everything needs to happen instantly. Not everything needs to be perfect. Not everything needs to be hard work. Life only happens once, and the days will slip out of your hands if you rush through your week!

Take a moment each day for yourself. I can’t tell you how important this is. I just started a new routine for the new year. I call it my selfish time, even though it’s not selfish at all. It’s necessary. But I call it that to remind myself to spoil myself a little bit each day, to not worry about what needs my attention next, to maintain inner peace and find happiness in the simple things.

I’ll wake up, work out to upbeat music while drinking a green smoothie, shower with a candle lit, apply inspiring scented oils to my hair and skin, and take time to get inspired either from Pinterest or other travel/fashion sources. Put on an outfit, wether comfy or chic, to make me feel confident and comfortable. Sometimes I do my nails, sometimes I work on my “tan” (Bali Body self tanner, of course), or other girly rituals to make me feel like I have a fresh start.

It may sound shallow to work on your outer appearance. I subconsciously thought the same thing for a while. But I realized I was slowly falling out of love with myself. We have to keep a healthy relationship with ourselves. It sounds funny, right? But if we don’t show ourselves some love and care, we can become almost bitter. And how can we care about others if we don’t even care about ourselves? If you want to see the happy healthy version of you that you wish would show her face more often, LOVE her! She will love you right back. And you’ll feel so refreshed and ready to take on the day, after taking that 30 minutes first thing in the morning for yourself.

So put your records on, light your favorite candle, treat all your senses, and think “ohm” thoughts.

Baby it’s cold outside. But I’m thankful to have this cozy gypsy wagon to call our home for the holiday. I felt like having a white Christmas, even though we are just getting wind, sideways rain, and storms. So I did a little redecorating to simplify our space and have a fresh start. I’ll be sharing some photos of the finished room in the near future, but for now you can glimpse the new vibe in these photos from my For Love & Lemons “Day Off With” interview.

I was stoked to hear from one of my favorite brand about having a feature interview on their blog. I always feel inspired after looking though their dreamy lookbooks. Each collection brings something new to the table and inspires me to try something new with my personal style. Their intimates line Skivvies never disappoints. I could lay around in them and dream all day long. Luckily, my office has no dress code and I can wear my Skivvies to work. (;

On another note, I’ve had lots of questions about my diet and workout routine. (Though I won’t lie, I’ve been slacking off this holiday season…!)
I do have a semi-strict diet I (mostly) follow. My exercises also consist of more unique moves that I’ve either learned from other models or taken from my background in ballet. They are exercises that revolve around slimming the thighs, toning the butt, and tightening all the core/ab muscles for an overall slimming result. I do my whole workout inside our airstream, so they are exercises that require little space, only a yoga mat, and are really simple to do!

I’m so excited to finally bring you another part of our Airstream reveal! So much has been going on and keeping us busy between blog work and travel, it’s been hard to get everything completely finished to the point where I call it done. Of course I’ve learned that renovating a vintage Airstream is pretty much an on-going project as you fix and change things over time. So I’ve come to accept the fact, and embrace the creativity that goes into constantly making it our own cozy place.

Well where do I start? The original space was so cluttered and dark. Of course our first task was to paint everything white, which only took about a thousand layers of paint. We only recently decided to try wood panelling on the walls, and I love it! We will continue to panel all the other divider walls. I’m still deciding on a color to stain them, along with all the other wood accents in the Airstream. We originally went with a dark stain in the living room, but I’ve since changed my mind and think a lighter stain would be more warm and inviting.

We spent a lot of time renovating our kitchen (reveal coming soon!) and floors. The speakers on the wall are the original vintage “surround sound” speakers that are also in the living room. Originally there was a wall with an oven on the left at the foot of the bed. It was attached to the overhead shelves, so as a temporary fix, we cut that out with a saw when we tore out the kitchen unit. It opened up the space so much! We rebuilt our bed frame (I plan to add had carved molding to it next) and the storage under it, before heading off on our official full time travels this fall. I still have plans for other changes and will continue to share our progress. But for now, welcome to our cozy bedroom!

People have asked how I store all my clothing and accessories. It’s been a real challenge fitting it all, and even harder to store things when the seasons change. So I usually keep only the essentials/favorites, and sell the rest to happy new homes. What storage I have come up with is:

1. My open closet, which can fit clothes all the way across the wall if needed. But I try to keep only things I plan to wear soon there, to maintain extra open space.
2. Our hand built shelf fit 4 large baskets that act as “drawers” full of clothing, swimwear, etc. When traveling I tie a sash across the shelves (see the tiny white hooks) to hold the baskets in.
3. The original shelving above the bed (which we painted white) holds intimates, socks, pajamas, etc. divided into His & Hers sides. We plan to tear these out to built matching wood ones later.
4. And lastly, under the bed against the wall are 2 hand built shelves that hold all the shoes I can possibly fit, and some open space on the right for more baskets of clothing, purses, blankets, etc.

I did a lot of planning when we gutted the bedroom. I wanted to maintain as much of the open space as possible to keep it feeling less claustrophobic. So I opted to use baskets everywhere instead of building permanent drawers/storage. This also makes it extremely easy to move things around, toss things under the bed, use the shelves for other purposes, etc.

For our bed, we needed something lightweight once we added weight with the wooden bed frame. I did some research and found an amazing brand that makes the ultimate mattress! Tuft & Needle’s foam based mattress gets delivers vacuum packed and rolled up in a 4 ft. box! You unroll it and it “inflates” to full size on your bed frame. The ultimate reason we loved Tuft & Needle was for it’s comfort. It was the first time in a year I slept on a decent mattress instead of a hard hand-me-down. The foam based material distributes your body weight and heat, and gives you the feeling of floating when you sleep. It’s made to work for all body types and needs, which made it the perfect choice for us. They created the perfect mattress for everyone, and it’s also unbelievably affordable! Win win!

Once we reveal the final kitchen and bathroom renovations, I’ll be posting a before & after of everything! Then you’ll really be amazed, haha!
