LBB of Places: Alfred Tea Room, LA

I’m excited to birth a new series on the blog the I’ve been thinking of for a while. And with the 3rd anniversary of the blog being just the other day (November 5th), I feel it’s the perfect time to introduce this new series- my Little Black Book of Places! I’ve always wanted to explore and share the places I love with you, whether it’s where to eat, get drinks, shop, site see, or experience something fun and new!

I decided to start in LA (other beloved west coast spots to follow), thanks to lots of my friends moving to the city and asking me what to do around here! Blogging brings me to some cool locations, whether for social gatherings or photoshoots, so I get excited to share them with you!

As I explore and discover new spots that I fall in love with, I’ll be sharing them on the new LBB page! So if you’re a fellow explorer and crave some new experiences, or just want to see where I go, be sure to follow along!

First place in the book: Alfred Tea Room!

You know, that place with the pink walls, adorable branding, and the social media buzz it’s been stirring up. I decided I had to get in there quick, before it became a main tourist attraction in Melrose Place, but also because I must try the Boba everywhere I go. Boba is life, after all. And their Rose Boba had to be some of the tastiest!

And pink walls are a must for a good photo op, so I coordinated a very matchy outfit. Naturally. One of my favorite running around LA looks to date! I have been running around in this absolutely amazing silk floral bomber jacket from Bardot, a brand that is one of my new favorites. It’s pretty much the perfect light jacket for California’s hot-to-cold-to-hot again weather. And paired with a light bodysuit, hi-waist shorts, and OTK boots, you can’t go wrong.

I also wanted to talk about my Matt & Nat bag, which I’ve been sort of obsessed with. It’s one of the highest quality vegan bags I’ve ever seen, and exactly the color I was looking for this fall. I got it to carry on the plane when I flew to Cleveland, and it’s been by my side since. If you’re looking for quality vegan bags, they are amazing, and it’s made from some recycled materials!

But anyway, back to ALFRED!

The buzz was real when we got there. Hipster abound, sitting outside at the cafe tables, or chilling inside in the glow of the neon sign and surrounding pink hue. Customers all with their phones out, snapping pics of the trendy decor, had me feeling a bit like I was in a tourist trap. But the menu is oh so worth it, when you get to try some of their signature drinks! (See photo of menu below!) We tried Rose Boba Tea, Earl Grey Boba Tea, and Kombucha from the tap with a shot of Matcha! I especially liked the pvariety of Matcha options, as it’s one of my go-to drinks for a healthier option.

All in all, definitely one of those stops you’ll want to make when you’re in the LA/Melrose area. At least for the cute drinks, and the Instagrammable photo op. And if you like that, their Alfred {Coffee + Kitchen} is just around the corner and down the street!
