Nomad and the Gypsy

05/13/2015 By Sarah Leave a Comment

The open road has quickly become home. Spring came, full of rebirth for us. We spent nearly two months on the road being homeless, and roughing it out of our jeep. From Florida, all the way to California, we spent days exploring and traveling from place to place, living and loving and surviving through it all. All the beauty that comes with wandering makes up for all the difficulties. All the sacrifices we made and still make to live a free life, with nothing to hold us down, are what make it so freeing once you finally can let go.

We’ve learned to soak in every moment. One thing I cherish the most is the memories, and the photographs I have to remember them by. I live to document our adventures, from that one spot we stopped to shoot on a dirt road, to the simplest of moments, laying in the back of the jeep and not caring about what’s coming next. Places replace time. You don’t think about how long, or how short the time spent was. You just remember the place, and the visuals that stay with you.

Coachella | Day 3 – Outfit 3

05/11/2015 By Sarah 1 Comment

Coachella Day 3, Outfit 3. Fresh coconuts, purple mountain sunsets, ferris wheels and new friends.

Well it’s time for the final Coachella blog post… I’m sort of sad to be writing this. I had such a blast editing and writing for my Coachella adventures, reliving the music and the magic to share with you. I’ve got a playlist below for you to hear some of my favorites songs we heard live while at the festival!

The sun was setting, and we raced to the front of the venue to make it to the Ferris wheel to snap our outfit last photos. The sky was going from gold to pink to purple, and the hazy mountains in the distance were a beautiful dusky hue. The ferris wheel lights sparkled in the background and I twirled around, sipping from the best fresh coconut I’ve ever had. People around us were having the time of their lives, and I couldn’t not soak it all in the our last day was close to an end. Even though the festival is only 3 days, it takes you away from the world and seems to place you in a dreamland where life is not normal at all. Time doesn’t seem to exist, just the flow of energy and vibrations of music. It felt like a week went by, and all our adventuring was finally ending. I was sad to leave this wonderland, but at the same time, ready to step back into the real world…

Coachella | Day 3 – Outfit 2

05/09/2015 By Sarah Leave a Comment

Coachella Day 3, Outfit 2. Soaking up the golden rays, dancing in a desert daze.
We started day 2 at the venue with St. Lucia, sitting in the grass with the gathering crowd at the front of stage, crouched under a towel for shade. It was early afternoon, and by the time they played our favorite song, the golden rays were hitting the band and giving a real life to the music. I’ve listened to St. Lucia for some months now, but their music in the wide open air was just fresh and alive. Comparable it to a mojito, haha!

Dancing across the field on our way to see Vance Joy, I got recognized a few times by fans, as well as photographed for Women’s Wear Daily and by the photographer for LA Weekly & Rolling Stone. Keep your eye out and let me know if you see me pop up on any sites or mags for Coachella 2015!

I know some people were too shy to say hi when they saw me at Coachella, but I would have loved to meet you! I don’t bite, and I love to take selfies with people. ;D

Stay tuned for one last and final outfit post from my Coachella 2015 adventures! But don’t be sad, there is a video coming soon!

P.S. I’ve got 2 surprises coming up! You may want to subscribe to the newsletter, and keep an eye out for a special Coachella giveaway!

Coachella | Day 3 – Outfit 1

05/08/2015 By Sarah Leave a Comment

Coachella Day 3, outfit 1. White hot sun and festival flags in the desert breeze.

Day 3… I won’t lie. It was a chore to get ready on day three with the intense heat sucking the energy from you. It was dryer than the previous days, and I got a few nosebleeds while trying to shoot! We stuck to the shade as much as possible, chasing after the breeze and drifting in the sea of festival goers on the main path to the venue. The less clothes you wore, the better, so I resorted to wearing my Spell Fleetwood Shorts and my go-to Free People Strappy Back Bra. Temporary Tattoos and body paint became an essential. I went all out for the last day, hair chalk and all.

Read more about Day 3 in my next 2, final posts!

Coachella | Day 2 – Outfit 2

05/03/2015 By Sarah 1 Comment

Coachella Day 2, outfit 2. Golden hour, golden hearts… music, dancing, and good friends.
Like I said in my last post, Day 2 was my favorite. We not only adventured around with Corina of Wild & Free Jewelry, but we magically bumped into our camping neighbor, Russ, multiple times. He’s quickly become our friend who also travels and lives on the road. We met up once again after Coachella at Salvation Mountain, which you’ll get to see in an upcoming post!

This night was truly magical, from golden hour until midnight. We danced to Alt-J under the stars, glowing balloons, and colorful lights painting the audience from the big outdoor stage. Getting to experience it all and try to put it into words is hard to tackle! So you’ll just have to stay tuned for Day 3’s photos, and the big video to wrap up all my Coachella posts!
