Le Soleil

All I need is l’océan, la plage, le soleil.

It’s already warming up here in SoCal. Soon enough it’ll be my favorite season again. And I’ll be happy to just find a sunny corner to lay on my Turkish towel, bake in the sun, and listen to some classic 70’s tunes while reading a book. I miss those days, as I’m forever a summer baby, and can’t survive for long without constant sunlight and warmth. And with the warm season come all the new projects I have waiting to take place, which is even more exciting.

I’m about to jump on a plane to Paris, so my mind is on the romantic rainy weather I’ll be “enduring” for Fashion Week and the month of March. And though I’m dreaming of sunny summer days, I hope I really enjoy the atmosphere of that French city.

I’ll catch up with you once we touch down in Paris! Bisous!

The Last Resort

Resort season always gets me. The alluring temptation of escaping to an island, the thought of sun kissed skin, and the textures of resort wear that evoke feelings of sand under my feet. Palm trees cast shadows along the ground adding stark contrast to the world, and there’s a bustling noise that is the combination of all things island life.

What I wear ties heavily into my mood and inspiration. When I’m feeling cafe life, I dress chic and for comfort. When I’m feeling retro, I’ll refer to some of my classic icons for inspiration. And when I’m feeling resort ready, I’ll go to my all time favorite collection of things textures and beachy. For this look, I combined 2 of my favorites, and created a retro resort look. How cool are these Shevoke sun glasses for the final touch? I was so excited to get them, and I do think I’ll be bringing them to Paris Fashion Week with me to experiment other ways of styling them! They’re so fun, and make the world seem like a sunnier place!

In Her Garden

So it begins- the dream of spring. The days where the sun starts to warm your skin, ever so slightly. And the earth wakes up, budding in rebirth of what once was, and what will always be. The same, but different every season. Subtle differences that we hardly even notice, like a new freckle. A new blossom on a tree, a new tree grows from a seed under the ground, a new family of birds settle into your yard- birds that came from far far away. These little happenings in our surroundings that we never even think of. The beauty in the secret life of nature.

Eden

It’s so easy to fall in love with a beautiful thing. And this fragrance is one of those rare beautiful things. One that whisks you away to a dreamy place, maybe a secret garden. A sort of Eden. This paradise fills your senses, settles on your skin and tangles in your hair. It’s the wildflowers you pick and the silken bed sheets you dream upon. The scent of that dream is what stays with you when you wake, and your lover breathes it in when they hold you, like a love spell. And it is the essence of your magic that sets you apart from the rest.

When I envisioned this campaign, I knew it was meant to be for the new Riddle Oil scent ‘Eden’. The styling was a little fresher, and lighter than my usual, to inspire a dreamlike state. Paired with some French details, the perfect lingerie set, and a touch of spring through my favorite rain boots, the shoot came together to be Part 1 of the Eden campaign I envisioned.
