Tonal Style for Fall

10/04/2018 By Sarah 2 Comments

This fall I’m so inspired to take tonal dressing to a whole new level. From warm camel to creamy beige tones in my clothes, and now even in my hair! I just warmed up my platinum blonde locks for this cozy season with the Kevin Murphy Sugared.Angel Creamy Beige Colour. I apply it in the shower for a few minutes to tone it to the color I desire, and touch up every once in a while! So easy to use, and the simplest way to take control of your hair style and give yourself a fresh new feel.

As a woman, I sometimes crave a change of hair style as often as my mood changes!!! And I know I’m not alone! What’s even better is it comes in four shades for any season, mood, or preference! So if you’re looking for a new hair tone to spice up your look a little, the Sugared.Angels are a great way to experiment!

Get your color on and find out where you can buy yours!

Matrix Hair

Sarah Loven reviews Matrix Mega Sleek

Lately my hair has been acting so weird and I have no idea what’s going on! Is it the weather in LA? I’ve been shopping around for new products to try, and was happy to try out 3 Matrix products this month! Here’s the low down on my current hair situation, and which of the 3 sets were my favorite…

You all know my hair is very light blonde. It used to be white, but I had to stop bleaching it due to the damage it was causing. Living in the southwest desert for a while, and then the CA coast, all the sun, dryness, and mineral water really took a major toll on my hair. I’ve been battling the constant brittle dryness for over a year, trying new products left and right, then avoiding all products after a crazy experience, and now being more educated- trusting only certain products.

It’s not an easy place to recover from, so I’m happy to say I think I’ve gained some sort of balance and can bring my hair back from the brink of destroyed with some easy steps, even while changing up products and brands.

After testing out 3 Matrix Shampoos & Conditioners this month, here are my thoughts:

Mega Sleek is probably my top choice of the three. It definitely softened my hair and even gave it a nice dense volume that was a bonus for my fine hair. I did notice a lot of shedding after getting out of the shower, but that could be of the intense cleansing nature of the shampoo.

Hydra Source was my second favorite- also great! The shampoo cleansed my hair to get rid of all the built up minerals, then I really liked the tub of conditioner that felt a little more like a super quick deep conditioner. Leave it in 1-3 mins and you’re good to rinse. I found it did hydrate my hair great! I did notice some shedding after the shower with this product as well. I believe it is a strong enough product to use without any other moisturizing products. When I added some hair oil before drying my hair, a typical routine for me, I noticed it was just a little more oily than usual and hard to keep clean feeling even with daily dry shampoo. So by itself, it’s just enough!

Color Last was my third choice, just because I don’t necessarily need to use Color Last products with my current hair color. But if you have trouble keeping your blonde or tone just right, this may be the product you want! It uses orchid with moisturizing properties to protect the color from fading. I thought this one was pretty nice! I didn’t find anything wrong with it, unlike a lot of other products I use. So I vote it’s definitely a safe option if you’re skeptical about hair products!

Over all, I hear a lot of good stuff about Matrix and I’m excited to keep trying out some new products from their different lines!

L’impératrice

01/06/2018 By Sarah 1 Comment

Having tried out Dolce & Gabbana’s L’impératrice 3, I immediately fell in love. The packaging is chic and minimal, and the smell is 100% me. I tend to lean towards more unique, rare scents. One that someone wouldn’t recognize easily. I personally find light, slightly floral, fruity scents fit my personality and this one meshes with my body perfectly.

If you didn’t already know, a scent changes when it mixes with your skin, blood, and body scent. It may smell one way on someone, and different on someone else. I think that makes the whole world of perfumes such a magical mystery. Hunting down the ones you love is intriguing!

I’m so acutely aware of smells that it is important to me, and to feeling good, that I find a scent and wear it daily. I have a few that I mainly stick to, but right now my heart belongs to The Empress. I think it’s the perfect scent going into the new year, and soon spring. The notes that I smell the most are the melon and floral, with a hint of musk. It’s so feminine and unique that I think it demands to be noticed, but it’s over the top. A more detailed scent that your average shopping mall perfume. If someone sprayed me in the face with L’impératrice 3, I wouldn’t even mind, haha! And I’m not sponsored to say this.

Inspired to smell, dress, live, and love like an Empress.

Hair by Toni & Guy

Josh and Sarah Loven styled by Toni & Guy Salon

So for almost a whole year, I’ve been happy to call Toni & Guy (Irvine, CA) my home salon! My locks are personally cared for by my hair stylist Lindsay Baker (@bylindsaybaker), who is the Advanced Creative Director of Toni & Guy. She is absolutely wonderful, and has done everything and more to help rescue my hair from the torment it goes through, thanks to past bleaching, constant styling, and dry west coast atmosphere/CA water. She always works with me to create the look I want, and took my basic beach waves to the French Fringe I desired- which I know you guys have loved since I got it early 2017!

You’ve seen my salon BTS on my Instagram Stories, but I wanted to give an in depth review of my experience here on the blog! Because if you’re in the Orange County area, you need to hit up Toni & Guy! Located at the Irvine Spectrum Center.

I always have a blast with the salon crew, and I really trust my hair with Lindsay. It’s a high-fashion, sleek salon that feels straight up Vogue. I know I’ll always get the royal treatment with their amazing services. My typical salon day at T&G includes a color touch up/tone (if needed), wash, deep conditioning Olaplex Treatment, Blowout, hair trim, full styling, and photoshoot (well, that’s just for me)!

While I get my hair done, Lindsay also cuts and style Josh’s hair, because we like to stay on brand in the T&G family. Haha! And I have to say, it’s always been so hard to get that high quality, movie star hair cut for Josh at other salons. No one ever knew what I wanted for him. But Lindsay at Toni & Guy gets it perfect every time. She’s the best!

So if you’re without a home salon, or looking to try something new, please check out Toni & Guy! Tell them I referred you! You won’t be sorry.

Averr Aglow

10/18/2017 By Sarah 1 Comment

With new seasons come new things. Our blog got a rebrand (from Ready Gypset Go to Jetset Lust), and so did my favorite skincare brand! Formerly known as Hello Aglow, Averr Aglow still remains one of my go-to skincare lines that I use every day. I promise you, with everything I’ve tried, I’ve narrowed down my current favs to a select few, because I’m very picky about what products I promote, more or less what I use on myself. And this is one I tell all my friends about.

Averr Aglow presents the same great products, plus the new Luminous Complexion Toner you can now pre-order, which I’m so excited to try out next! This complete skincare kit provides all you need to maintain your healthy glow so that it’s actually possible to go makeup free. Its true, and I have done it! Even my husband uses it, so I know it works on all skin types because it’s natural.

I brought my Averr Aglow with me to Paris, where the Clear Skin Elixir was born! Averr Aglow first created this concoction with French pink clay during a trip to Paris, and naturally found something magical about it. When I found this out, I loved the products even more. There’s something so special about taking inspiration from the places you go and allowing it to be born into something such as art, writing, and physical creations. It’s like fusing your memories and experiences with something that can be shared with the world.

If you haven’t tried Averr Aglow yet, please do! You deserve the healthiest glowing skin that makes you confident!
