I always feel nostalgic at the end of summer. August slips by and I suddenly wish how I would have sat by the pool more, spent more days at the beach, enjoyed the sweetness of the season. It’s the simplest things that make me happy. Like sleeping with the windows open on a late summer night. And wearing nothing but his shirt all day. Or picking wild pomegranates off a tree and eating the ruby gemlike seeds, while floating in a turquoise pool. Or spinning and spinning with my arms open and my eyes closed in a big grass field, knowing I won’t bump into anything. Then laying on his chest in the cool grass under the dimly lit sky before night. I love the simplicity of life in the summer. I could live forever in this season.
