San Francisco Holiday

For the first time I set foot in sweet San Francisco, it was to shoot our New Year’s Eve blog post. I donned my holiday party look to roam the city. It took 2 days of rain and one day of sunshine to capture everything, and I still wish we could have seen more and done more! The pastel colors of the city made everything so much more lively (especially when the sun was out). I’m from Chicago, and I’ve lived in New York and Cleveland. And I think, though I didn’t get as much time in SF, that I loved it just a wee bit more than the other cities. I’m big into architecture full or history and character, so the streets lined with the victorian style houses in rows and rows of endless pastels… well it was a photographer’s dream!

For this set, we explored some of SF’s famous “hills”. I put quotes because, um, these hills are calf busters. Never before have I climbed such steep hills, or driven over any. It was nerve-wracking at first, taking our big clumsy truck through the busy streets and searching endlessly for a parking spot. (The downside to traveling…)

We climbed up and down Knob Hill and Russian Hill probably 3-4 times during two outfit shoots. Chasing light from street to street, circling blocks and looking for the best view. It was like being in a dollhouse maze!

I wore Sea Gypsies for my holiday look. Their stunning high-neck open-back romper, with their black coat for a sleek and clean (cozy) touch. Added a simple touch of sparkle with the Tess & Tricia Necklace and Tribe Jewelry ring. And the beautiful oxblood silk velvet clutch from Patrick Shannon brought the glamour for an evening NYE party look. I fell in love with the contrast of this outfit paired against all the light tones of the city!

Stay tuned for our NYE surprise!
