When scouting locations for our Spell campaign shoot in Tucson, I discovered this rare gem and knew we had to shoot here. A courtyard of cactuses, adobe architecture, and inside- beautiful rooms entirely covered in murals by the artist Ettore Degrazia. We didn’t think we were going to make it there in time before the setting sun. But we rolled up with Flo in tow, just before golden hour. The place was silent and empty, nothing but the sound of dirt and pebbles crunching under my Spell boots as we explored our prickly surroundings.

There was much skirt swishing, and it was easy to disappear into the mood of the place. It was almost lonely, stuck in a timelessness. I felt transported to a small hidden casa, in an old Mexican pueblo. I was in love with the vibrant color of the Spell skirt and top, popping against the earthy desert backdrop. I was utterly stoked to have found my pink lacey agate bolo tie at a thrift shop, and knew it had to be a part of my Spell shoots. I paired it with my Saints of Bohemia chunky turquoise and silver cuff, which suited the setting perfectly with it’s raw and natural design elements. Raw and textured, with imperfect lines and edges. It hit me with an arrow right in my desert loving heart, and I was in love.
